BOUNDARY CHANGES

In 2023 there was a review of all the Parliamentary constituency boundaries in England.

These reviews happen in order to update constituency boundaries based on population changes, with the aim of keeping all the constituencies at roughly the same size of around 75,000 people.

The boundary adjustments will come into full effect at the next General Election, which will be happening at some time before January 2025. The borders of the Chesham and Amersham Parliamentary seat will change as a result.

The Chesham and Amersham constituency will lose:

  • Prestwood

  • Great Missenden

  • Little Missenden

  • The Lee

  • Ballinger Common

  • Chartridge

  • Asheridge

  • Hyde Heath

  • South Heath

  • Great Kingshill

  • Little Kingshill

  • Buckland Common

  • Bellingdon

  • St. Leonards

  • Cholesbury

All these areas will become part of a newly formed Parliamentary constituency called “Mid Buckinghamshire”. Mid Buckinghamshire will encompass towns such as Wendover, Princes Risborough, and Stoke Mandeville. Click here to find out more about the new Mid Buckinghamshire constituency.

The Chesham and Amersham constituency will gain:

  • Gerrards Cross

  • Hazlemere

  • Part of Higher Denham

For more precise details on where these changes in the boundaries will be made, please refer to a more detailed map that can be found here.

Until the next election, residents in Gerrards Cross and Denham will be represented by Joy Morrisey, the MP for Beaconsfield, while residents in Hazlemere will continue to be represented by Steve Baker, the MP for Wycombe. Please note that due to strict Parliamentary protocols, Sarah cannot process casework from these areas as an MP until after the General Election when they join the Chesham and Amersham constituency.

Why Am I Receiving Leaflets from Sarah?

Since it is certain that the General Election will take place soon (before February 2025), triggering that boundary change to be implemented, those who will be moving into the constituency are therefore also receiving literature that is going to existing constituents.

If you live within the new constituency boundary is likely that you will also receive literature from the Conservative and other party candidates standing for the Chesham and Amersham Parliamentary seat, if you have not already. All registered political parties are given access to the data on the electoral roll.

If you wish to opt out of receiving any further addressed contacts, you may do so by emailing data.protection@libdems.org.uk - but please note that you may still receive some unaddressed literature to your address, for example when it is delivered by Royal Mail.
